KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- System Protection & Maintenance Sdn Bhd (SPM) has signed a memorandum of purchase agreement for green energy with Tesdec Services Sdn Bhd (TSSB) to develop several rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
In a statement, SPM said through this collaboration with TSSB, a solar company under the Terengganu government, eight PV installation projects have been implemented with a total capacity of 1.332-megawatt peak.
"All the projects are under the Net Energy Metering (NEM) 3.0, Government Ministries and Entities, and Net Offset Virtual Aggregation (Nova) programme implemented through the solar power purchase agreement (SPPA) with the Terengganu government agency.
The first SPPA was signed on Dec 6, 2022, for a Pesaka Terengganu Bhd project, followed by the Terengganu State Skills Development Centre or Tesdec College project.
The agreement was signed by SPM group executive chairman Mohd Zaini Abdullah and TSSB general manager Mohd Azrin Mohd Aris@Mohd Aziz yesterday, witnessed by SPM executive director Wan Azlina Mohd Zaini and TSSB chief executive director Mohd Iskandar Muhammad Aziz.
SPM, an engineering and construction company specialised in areas such as power plants and substations, also informed that the two PV projects for Pesaka and Tesdec College were fully completed last year.
"Both projects commenced or were operational on Sept 3, 2023, and Jan 17, 2024. The projects which were agreed under the SPPA have generated around 270 megawatt-hours since their commencement,” it said.
