KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Sustainable energy and engineering solutions specialist, Kinergy Advancement Bhd (KAB) is collaborating with leading fertiliser supplier, Agromate Holdings Sdn Bhd to spearhead bioenergy or renewable energy generation across palm oil mills (POM).
In a statement, KAB said through the collaboration, the parties aim to capitalise on a largely under-tapped market with huge recurring income potentials, as Malaysia is the world’s second-largest palm oil producer, supported by its 447 POMs with total processing capacity of 119.5 million tonnes per year.
KAB, formerly known as Kejuruteraan Asastera Bhd, also announced that its pivotal sustainable energy solutions entity, KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd has entered into a shareholder agreement with Agromate to establish a cooperative partnership via Genplan Advisory & Management Sdn. Bhd.
Genplan is anticipated to conduct engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning works tailored towards environmentally friendly projects.
KAB executive deputy chairman and group managing director, Datuk Lai Keng Onn said the company is aggressively moving in line with global efforts to transition to sustainable energy solutions.
He added that the collaboration would accelerate the creation of advanced bioenergy projects and sustainable energy solutions that meet top-notch environmental criteria.
“Moreover, bioenergy stands as a crucial element among the six energy transition levers outlined in the National Energy Transition Roadmap.
“We could also produce non-fossil fuel-based fertilisers from biogas, which will contribute to sustainable agriculture practices, promoting soil health and reducing dependence on chemical fertilisers,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agromate group chief executive officer Edward Tang Ming Yng said the collaboration with KAB marked the first milestone for the group in terms of renewable resources.
“We look forward to many more future milestones as Agromate Group continues to be committed to environmental, social and corporate governance to significantly reduce the impact of carbon emissions, thus ensuring a better environment for future generations," he added.
