KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The National Energy University (UNITEN) and the ASEAN Energy Center (ACE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in research and innovation activities in the field of energy transition.
The MoU was signed by UNITEN vice-chancellor Prof Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman and ACE executive director Dr Nuki Agya Utama at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2023 in Bali, Indonesia, last Saturday (Aug 26).
As part of the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in energy modelling projects, energy and environment relations, as well as business-related areas such as energy management, energy security and economics, according to a UNITEN statement.
Noor Azuan said the collaboration will also involve academic exchange activities, knowledge sharing, organising international conferences, and producing policy papers, publications and academic materials for the benefit of stakeholders in the energy field.
“This MOU is in line with the implementation of the ASEAN Action Plan for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) between UNITEN and ACE based on equality and mutual benefit,” he said.
He said the MoU could strengthen UNITEN's involvement as a 'think tank' by contributing the university's expertise in providing multidisciplinary studies in the field of energy at the ASEAN level.
