SEDC Energy launches multi-fuel station in Daro

MUKAH, March 19 (Bernama) -- The difficulty of getting fuel in the Daro district has been resolved with the launch of a multi-fuel refuelling station by SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd (SEDC Energy).

Officiated by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today, the station was SEDC Energy’s second multi-fuel refuelling station, following the opening of its flagship station in Darul Hana in Kuching last year.

The station in Daro was the company’s first Dealer Owned, Dealer Operated (DODO) multi-fuel station and the first of its kind in a Sarawakian town landscape, the company said in a statement today.

According to SEDC Energy, the station also marked its first step at network expansion via the recruitment of dealers interested in operating DODO multi-fuel refuelling stations across Sarawak, including in remote rural areas for the people’s convenience.

“This is in line with the Sarawak government’s aspirations to raise the standard of living and attend to the people’s needs,” it said.

Moving forward, the company plans to set up more multi-fuel refuelling stations across Sarawak, offering not only conventional fossil fuels but also electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities as part of its focus on environmental and transportation sustainability.

“The multi-fuel stations that are built along the Pan Borneo highway and strategic areas will be further equipped with hydrogen refuelling dispensers to accommodate the needs of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), apart from the conventional fuels and EV chargers,” it added.

SEDC Energy is a subsidiary of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation.
