BSL Oilfield Services upbeat on robust demand amid stable offshore O&G activities

By Jailani Hasan

LABUAN, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- BSL Oilfield Services remains upbeat on the higher demand for its services and equipment, driven by stable offshore oil and gas (O&G) activities this year.

Managing director Fauziah Tranchand said the oil and gas industry has made a strong comeback in the past year as oil prices reached their highest level since the global economic contraction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing energy market imbalances.

“The reopening of the world’s economies and the lifting of travel restrictions have contributed to a surge in demand despite the challenging economic environment.

“As BSL Oilfield Services enters 2023 with confidence, the company plans to continue investing in business expansion and growth initiatives,” Fauziah said in an interview with Bernama prior to the official launch of the Labuan-based BSL Containers Sdn Bhd’s relocation to the new site at Jalan Kolam here today.

BSL Oilfield Services, headquartered in Singapore, with branches in Labuan, Bintulu, Kemaman and Kuala Lumpur, specialises in supplying certified offshore containers, baskets, reefers, tanks and equipment for O&G offshore activities.

BSL Oilfield Services also offers a comprehensive range of modules, such as containers, tanks, baskets, bottle racks, toolboxes, half heights and waste skips to support offshore projects including renewable energy projects in the offshore wind energy industry.

“From rental to purchase, our professional teams in various regions will provide the best solution to industry players and help them succeed in the rapidly growing wind power market,” Fauziah said.

The company's clients include both local and multinational companies, including Petronas Carigali.

“As the international maritime organisation’s requirements for containerising O&G equipment from onshore to offshore become mandatory, we are optimistic about the continuity of oilfield services,” Fauziah said.

Fauziah said the increase in O&G offshore-related activities such as oil drilling works, oil exploration and oil production augurs well for the oilfield services sector.
