KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 -- Solarvest Holdings Berhad, via its wholly-owned subsidiary Atlantic Blue Sdn Bhd, has been appointed by TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd to build a large scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) plant for RM46.75 million.
Solarvest said the solar farm will be situated at Bukit Selambau, Kedah and the project involves the installation of about 136,890 pieces of solar PV panels, which are capable of generating up to 50-megawatt (MWac) of green energy.
“It is scheduled to reach commercial operation date by the first quarter of 2023,” the company said in a statement.
Group chief executive officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong said the group is confident that solar energy would continue to be one of the preferred clean energy sources given its scalability and relatively low capex investment.
“This is evidenced in the strong growth in our tender activities that has grown to approximately RM1 billion worth of solar projects in Malaysia,” he said.
The contract brings Solarvest’s total unbilled order book over RM620 million as of Oct 5, 2021.
At the market close today, Solarvest’s share price was traded two sen lower at RM1.25 with 1.94 million shares transacted.
