KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 -- Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia officially launched its 10th Anniversary celebration via an online ceremony officiated by its chairman, Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
Lukanisman in his opening remark said that the milestone reached by the authority was due to the combined effort from the various ministries, government agencies, international bodies, industry players and the public.
He also expressed hopes that programmes such as the Sustainable Energy Awareness Poster and Short Video Challenge would convey the message to youth on the importance of science and technology in everyday life.
“I hope via this session, it will help to spark interest among young participants who will be our future leaders to venture in the area of sustainable energy,” he said.
The ceremony also saw the launch of the Sustainable Energy Awareness Poster and Short Video Challenge, a programme organised in collaboration with Multimedia University (MMU) as part of the 10th Anniversary celebration.

The guests of honour at the event were MMU president and chief executive officer, Prof Datuk Dr Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, SEDA Authority Members, Management Committee of MMU, and SEDA Malaysia CEO.
The Sustainable Energy Awareness Poster and Short Video Challenge aims to increase awareness on sustainable energy among youth and the public.
In conjunction with the 10th Anniversary celebration, SEDA Malaysia has lined up several programmes and activities, among them social media contests, webinars and the on-going corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, ‘Tautan Kasih’, aimed to assist those affected by the pandemic, COVID-19 frontliners, as well as selected B40 communities nationwide.
