Serba Dinamik allocates RM2.13 mln for CSR

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 -- Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has allocated RM2.13 million for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expense for June to December 2021 period, said group managing director Datuk Ir Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah.

He said the group, through its CSR activities organising team called Serba Care, supports various bodies in carrying out activities that focus on the areas of education, healthcare and general semantics.

“The Serba Care team organises CSR activities that assist in eradicating hunger and malnutrition, promoting education and healthcare, helping the needy, advocating for a sustainable environment, and rural development projects.

“From the month of June till December 2021, the company provides CSR activities to six states, namely Selangor, Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Terengganu, and Melaka,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Abdul Karim said before a CSR project is launched, a thorough study and research is conducted to identify the communities that require development and to make sure that the communities receive the necessary aid.

The company also interacts with the stakeholders and the Board of Directors to ensure that its projects are being implemented effectively from inception to execution, he said.

Under the Serba Care Team, employees also played a part by giving back to the society by participating in the various activities or projects.

“A notable effort to note is the programme conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic whereby employees volunteered to promote healthcare, growth and development of children and elderly in Malaysia.

“The various activities or projects included supplying medical masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) to all the quarantine sites, hospitals and clinics in the states.

Besides that, Mohd Abdul Karim said Serba Dinamik also lent its support to the emergency aid for the Palestinians, where funds collected from various branches within the country were handed over to the respective non-governmental organisations.

Last year, Serba Dinamik bagged the Company of the Year award under the Engineering Services and Oil and Gas Solutions category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2020.
