KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 -- Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd and Anora Agency Sdn Bhd have signed a memorandum of understanding with Envision Digital International Pte Ltd to offer solar photovoltaic (PV) owners comprehensive protection and monitoring services for their solar energy assets.

Allianz Malaysia Bhd and Allianz General chief executive officer Zakri Khir said the partnership with Anora, the exclusive distributor of Alliance General’s solar PV insurance product, and Envision Digital, a global decarbonisation and artificial intelligence of things technology leader, fits seamlessly into the insurance group’s goal of becoming key levers in building a sustainable future.

“Our continued partnership with Anora will enable us to provide comprehensive protection to solar PV owners, both residential and commercial.

“Now, together with Envision Digital’s (proprietary application) EnOS, we will have access to much-needed advanced analytics and forecast that are essential in risk management and the developing newer versions of SolarPro in the future as well,” he said in a statement today.

SolarPro, the solar PV system insurance protection solution underwritten by Alliance General, offers all-risk protection and covers loss or damage to solar PV systems, as well as loss of income or savings due to system downtime.

Meanwhile, EnOS, a monitoring, advanced analytics, forecasting, and optimising application, will help owners of renewable energy assets and solar PV installations to monitor and manage the performance of their assets.

This includes proactively detecting and diagnosing emerging system underperformance or component health issues, as well as providing recommendations or interventions for pre-emptive or corrective action.

Renewable energy currently accounts for 18 per cent of Malaysia’s energy mix, with the national target to grow capacity to 20 per cent by 2025.
