T7 Global bags RM50 mln work order from Petronas Carigali

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 -- T7 Global Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract worth RM50 million from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd. 

In a statement today, the energy solutions provider said the contract entailed the provision of plug and abandonment integrated services for the Pulai A platform in Peninsular Malaysia.

The work order is under the Pan Malaysia Umbrella Contract and is effective from March 29 to December 28 this year.

Under the Pan Malaysia Umbrella Contract, Tanjung Offshore will be participating in upcoming jobs for integrated well services for well workover and well abandonment from Petroleum Arrangement Contractors in Malaysia, it noted.

T7 Global chairman Datuk Seri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani Nik Hassan Thani said the contract will cement the group’s position as an integrated well services player in Malaysia and reaffirmed its technical capabilities to undertake complex offshore projects in the energy value chain.

He said integrated well services, which cover both production wells and abandonment of old wells, would form part of the group's long-term energy solutions for oil majors.

"We are optimistic of the local oil and gas industry due to the steady outlook for the next three years.

“Petronas remains committed to maximising its oil production and there are more than 500 wells planned to be plugged permanently by 2030 due to the increasing trend of idle wells,” he added.

Nik Norzrul also said that over the next few years, the group aims to win more similar jobs by providing innovative well solutions to Petronas and other oil majors in the region.
