KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 -- Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, via its Emirati joint venture Block 7 Investments, has secured a contract to develop the first innovation hub in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement today, ZonesCorp, which is responsible for planning, developing and managing specialised economic zones for investors within the emirate, said it had signed an agreement for the development of the 820,000-square-metre Block 7 Innovation Hub.
Serba Dinamik group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said the project was expected to be completed in three phases.
“Phase one will see the development of over 350,000 square metres of land, while in phases two and three, a further 470,000 square metres will be developed,” he said.
He added that the project was expected to meet Abu Dhabi’s aspiration to foster economic growth through advanced manufacturing and innovation patents.
The hub is an ideation of EFIRE Capital Holdings Ltd of Abu Dhabi and Serba Dinamik .
ZonesCorp, an Abu Dhabi Ports company, said the development would be the base of its high-tech manufacturing cluster and life sciences and pharmaceuticals clusters.
It will serve companies in the healthcare, mobility, smart infrastructure systems, environmental technology, and Information and communications technology solutions field, it added.
According to the statement, the hub will also host a state-of-the-art digital mall, an e-sports arena, a digital theme park with hologram theatre, smart office and co-working spaces, as well as education and laboratory facilities to serve the academic and research and development sectors.
The company also revealed that a mixed-reality exhibition space, alongside hospitality and intelligent living spaces, as well as food and beverage outlets, were also in the pipeline.
ZonesCorp CEO Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed said the hub would support the sustainable growth of advanced manufacturing industries in Abu Dhabi, as well as the manufacturing sector in the UAE at large.
