KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 -- Greatech Technology Bhd’s unit Greatech Integration (USA) Inc has secured its first purchase order in the United States from a new electric vehicle (EV) customer to produce lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group said the new order, which is after six months since the unit’s incorporation, reflected that the customer has confidence in the technology, quality and reliability of its high-tech equipment.
“The EV market is witnessing rapid evolution with developments in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific automotive sectors.
“Policymakers in the respective region, country and state play a pivotal role to transform the transportation industry,” Greatech said.
In December 2020, its subsidiary secured a leased facility in Michigan, United States with a combined space of approximately 16,000 square feet and moved to the facility in mid-February this year.
The group currently has a customer base in the solar, semiconductor, energy storage and life science industry.
