TNB, Maevi to play integral role to support govt's digitalisation plan



KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22  -- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and its smart home products subsidiary, Maevi Sdn Bhd, aims to play an integral role in supporting the government’s digitalisation plan. 

TNB Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project director Ir Mohamed Ghous Ahmad said the group's goal is to introduce technologies that complement each other to ultimately deliver a more energy-efficient, sustainable future and to help improve the nation’s supply system reliability and resilience. 

“TNB is constantly innovating to provide solutions for customers, and through our Smart Meter rollout and myTNB app improvements, we intend to enrich the lives of our customers and provide greater convenience, transparency and control,” he said in a statement today. 

"The group will continue with its efforts in integrating digital technologies and Internet of things (IoT) innovations into the daily lives of Malaysians,” he added.

Maevi develops IoT or industrial IoT products and solutions focusing but not only limited to energy management and optimisation. 

Meanwhile, Maevi chief executive officer Izham Ismail said Maevi is proud to support TNB’s efforts to empower customers to plan their electricity usage efficiently.

"Maevi's smart home devices perfectly complement the Smart Meter benefits by extending the ability to add remote energy monitoring to home automation and home security, making every home even smarter,” he added.  

As Malaysia moves forward in its digital transformation, TNB hopes to continue with its Smart Meter installation efforts in the Klang Valley for the remainder of 2021, with plans to expand into other areas in the country in the near future.
