KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 -- Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) has bagged two engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contracts for a total value of RM821.32 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, the integrated civil construction group said one contract was secured for a RM421.97 million property development project in Kuching, while another for a RM399.35 million engineering and construction project in the Gulf nation of Qatar.
“The formal agreements for both the contracts will be executed in due course,” it said, adding that the contracts secured are expected to contribute positively to SCIB group’s future earnings.
The client for the contract in Kuching is Lestari Asiabina Sdn Bhd for the development of a 20-storey mixed development tower, condominiums and apartments, a clubhouse and shophouses, for a total duration of 108 months, which is equivalent to four stages of 27 months.
The contract in Qatar was awarded to SCIB International (Labuan) Ltd., a wholly owned-owned subsidiary of SCIB, for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering work at Qatar’s North Field gas expansion.
The client in Qatar is Interceptor Trading & Contracting Co. W.L.L., and the contract is scheduled for 30 months, from Feb 2021 to July 2023.
