KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 -- PLUS Malaysia Berhad’s (PLUS) corporate headquarters, Persada PLUS was today announced as the winner of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA) 2020 National Energy Award (NEA) for Category , namely Efficiency in Energy Management (Large Buildings).

KeTSA in a statement today said the annual award was organised to recognise outstanding achievements and best practices among organisations to drive the country's sustainable energy agenda as well as to encourage companies and organisations to reduce their carbon footprint by minimising dependence on electricity generated through fossil fuels.

“This award has been organised annually since 2018 as part of the ministry's initiatives to promote the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency practices in Malaysia.

Consequently, winners of the NEA 2020 are in perfect position to become industry leaders not only within Malaysia but also the entire Southeast Asian region,” read the statement.

It added that the winners of Category 1 and Category 2 would be representing Malaysia at the ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA) 2020, the results of which are expected to be announced during the 38th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) on Nov 19.

“The winners have all done a great job in furthering the country’s progress towards a more sustainable future.

“As part of this vision, I hope that they will also share their best practices with other organisations so that they may also develop sustainable practices and further expand the benefits of efficient energy management,” he said.
