Advancecon inks two solar energy generation MoUs with a total capacity of 3,937 kWp

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17  -- Advancecon Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned unit, Advancecon Solar Sdn Bhd, has entered into solar energy Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with two furniture players to install rooftop solar photovoltaic system with a total generation capacity of 3,937 kilowatt peak (kWp) under Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme.

In a statement today it said, under the MoU, Advancecon Solar would undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of the solar photovoltaic systems installed on Latitude Tree Furniture Sdn Bhd’s premises in Klang, Selangor and Rhong Khen Timbers Sdn Bhd’s premises in Ajil, Terengganu.

Upon successful installation of the solar photovoltaic systems, the total generation capacities for Latitude Tree Furniture and Rhong Khen Timbers would be 2,122 kWp and 1,815 kWp respectively.

Group chief executive officer Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the MoUs would further reinforced Advancecon’s growing headway within the solar renewable energy sector.

"The continuous positive response we have received from corporations, particularly manufacturing companies, attests to the clear benefits of utilising solar energy in their operations, including enjoying immediate savings in energy costs.

"These two MoUs would increase our total solar energy portfolio to 7,838.44 kWp, surpassing our minimum target of 7,000 kWp for the year," he said.

While remaining committed to increasing this further to 10,000 kWp or more by end-2020, the company he said, is also focusing on the execution and implementation of its earlier MoUs.

"We expect our first NEM project to start commissioning in January 2021," he said.

He said of the total 7,838.44 kWp solar energy portfolio, the total generation capacity under the NEM amounted to 7,377.32 kWp from the MoUs signed with Oon Corp Resources (M) Sdn Bhd, YHI Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, as well as Latitude Tree Furniture and Rhong Khen Timbers.

He added that the balance 461.12 kWp would be utilised by Peritone Health Sdn Bhd for self-consumption purposes.
