Serba Dinamik provides US$30 mln for TVET in IDB member countries

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 --  Serba Dinamik  Holdings Berhad ( Serba Dinamik ) has signed an agreement with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to provide US$30 million for Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) in the energy sector.

According to IDB website, the training will be provided in its 57-member countries through Reverse Linkage mechanism.

The Reverse Linkage mechanism is a technical cooperation programme championed by the bank to provide solution to development challenges by means of triangular cooperation, where it will match two member countries to exchange technology, resources and expertise.  

The signing ceremony was held at IDB headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday.

 Serba Dinamik  was represented by its group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah and signing on behalf of IDB was its president Dr Bandar Hajjar.

“We are pleased to partner with IDB. It is a win-win situation for both parties. We already have global collaboration with Microsoft in the frontiers of technology and another partnership in artificial intelligence with Stanford University. We are happy that IDB is joining hands with us to put our objectives into reality,” said Mohd Karim as quoted in the website.

The training areas include construction, procurement of equipment, sharing or development of standard operating procedures, capacity development, human capital development (training of trainers), designing course contents and syllabus, design and development of suitable IT platforms and certification schemes.
