MTDC-UiTM maker talent competition can prepare younger generation for IR4.0



SHAH ALAM, Aug 3 (Bernama) – The MTDC-UiTM Maker Talent Competition 2019 will enable the younger generation to face the industrial revolution 4.0 while creating an interest in them to go into the field of technological entrepreneurship.

Chief executive of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), Datuk Norhalim Yunus, said the competition was aimed at boosting creativity and innovativeness of schoolchildren at the primary and secondary-school levels, in the field of engineering, robotics and electronics.

“Through this competition, schoolchildren will be guided by an engineering student from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in a project.

“This collaboration will also allow the UiTM who is the mentor to gain thinking skills and creativity, group leadership skills and communication skills which are important to built the technopreneurship among students.

“I also believe that exposure such as this will produce graduates who are holistic, creative and entrepreneurial,” he said in a press conference held after the competition here today.

About 200 groups from 70 primary and secondary schools throughout Selangor are participating in the competition.

The Azfar group from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ13 emerged champion for the Diamond Award.
