SESB urged to restore electricity supply to Batu Sapi villages

SANDAKAN, June 14  (Bernama) -- Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) and Energy Commission (EC) have been urged to immediately restore the power supply at three villages in Batu Sapi here.

Batu Sapi member of parliament Datuk Liew Vui Keong lamented that Kampung Bakau, Kampung Sundang, and Kampung Sundang Laut were still without electricity despite having settled the arrears.

According to him, power supply in the three villages was cut off three days ago.

He said the constituency’s office collected payment from the villagers and paid about RM140,000 since April.

"The office has the record, however, the receipt to SESB shows the payment was made to an SESB contract company which had its contract terminated long ago.

“This is confusing from the legal point,” Liew, who is also  Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department told reporters after visiting and handing over donations to fire victims comprising 71 families at Surau Ar-Rahman, Kampung Karamunting near here, today.
