Serba Dinamik's earnings 21 pct higher at RM112 mln in Q1

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) --   Serba Dinamik  Holdings Bhd’s net profit rose by 21 per cent year-on-year to RM112.15 million in the first quarter (Q1) ended March 31, 2019, as it increased its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activity in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Middle East.

Revenue jumped 34.7 per cent to RM984.39 million, driven by the operations and maintenance (O&M) segment which contributed about 87 per cent of the group’s total revenue.

The segment's revenue grew 35.3 per cent to RM858.73 million mainly due to the higher MRO activity while the inspection, repair and maintenance activity showed a slight decline.

Meanwhile, the group's engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) segment contributed RM111.23 million or 11.3 per cent to its total Q1 revenue.

Group managing director and group chief executive director Datuk Dr Ir Mohd Karim Abdullah said Malaysia continued to be the single largest contributing country, contributing 31.2 per cent of total Q1 revenue or RM306.89 million.

Meanwhile, the Middle East region contributed RM581.33 million or 59.1 per cent to the company’s total revenue and the Central Asia accounted for RM40.96 million or 4.16 per cent.

The group has declared a first interim dividend of 2.3 sen per share (Q1 2018: 1.9 sen).
